Here is a little History behind this pan.

In 1954 a neighbor lady of Frank Schamell brought her cake pan that had been passed to her from her mother who had brought it here from Austria. The original was well worn and had developed a hole and
she hoped Frank could make her a new pan.
Frank was intrigued by it's shape and agreed to make a new pan. It took him over a year to develop the tooling and perfect the construction.

In 1955 his neighbor received the first pan and his wife the second one.
Frank began making these pans and sending them across the US with a recipe book. In the summer of 1997 Bob Schamell, Frank's son, approached Keith Johnson, a Tinsmith in Wisconsin, about purchasing his Father's equipment.

Keith purchased all the original equipment plus the recipes and continued to make the Potato Torte Pan over the years.

Then in October of 2020 Keith decided to retire and sold his tin shop and all the original Potato Torte Pan equipment to Allen and Colleen Schroll.

Colleen began making the Potato Torte Pans in November of 2020.

These cake pans come with their own recipe book

Keep in mind tin items are tin plated steel. They will develop a patina and get a bit of rust or oxidation especially along seams. Just clean with a soft cloth and some non-scratch soft cleanser.
