This Handmade Tin Hard Tack Cutter is made with solid copper pegs to make the indentations for more even baking. The cutting surface measures 3 inches square and 1/2 inch deep. It comes with a recipe for hard tack.
It is made of food grade USA tinplate and soldered with lead free food grade solder. Ready to be put to work cutting out some delicious Hard Tack dough
The sharp edge offers a superior cutting edge and releases the cookie dough easily. With proper care these cutters can be passed on and will last for many years.
To care for your Hard Tack cutter simply brush out the crumbs with a toothbrush. Then hand wash in soapy water. Towel dry immediately. A hair dryer can be used to remove any excess moisture after towel drying. Do not leave your cutter on a moist kitchen towel or in the drying rack to dry. DO NOT WASH IN THE DISHWASHER.
I like to place my cutter in a low temperature oven, say 170 degree for an hour after washing just to make sure it's dry.
It would be helpful to give your cutter a light coat of food grade mineral oil before storing.
