This hand fluted tin candle holder was a very common item used in the 18th Century household. Very portable and can be moved to anywhere in the house it is needed. The candle cup made to be able to pinch a bit to hold a candle better.
It has a bottom diameter of 3 1/2 inches and a top diameter of 4 1/2 inches.
Use a 6 to 8 inch taper or straight candle with regular 5/8 inch base.
